Widely revered as the "Queen of Suzhou Embroidery," she represents the third generation of Suzhou embroidery masters.
Rise to National Prominence
In 1997, Yao Jianping was honored by UNESCO with the title of "Folk Craft Artist." Her works have won the China International Folk Art Expo Gold Award and the highest honor in folk art expositions — the "Mountain Flower Award" (Shan Hua Jiang) — on four separate occasions.
